Wish List

Mr. Grymonpré and Ms. Harrigan

 Dear Parents,

As is the case in any school, our budget is limited, and we must be mindful of how we spend it.  Much of our departmental budget already has been spent obtaining the books and other curriculum materials that your children will be using this year.  These expenses do not leave much money available for essential classroom supplies.  Therefore, any donations that you are willing and able to make to our classroom this year will be graciously accepted.

  • small to medium sized green non-flowering plants
  • wooden rocking chairs  (The students LOVE to sit in them during quiet reading time!)
  • chair accent pillows with enough padding for students to sit on them comfortably
  • fans
  • dictionaries
  • thesauri
  • overhead transparencies (both those that can be used in a photocopy machine and those that cannot)
  • wet erase transparency markers
  • dry erase whiteboard markers
  • filler paper (notebook paper)
  • pencils
  • rulers
  • highlighters
  • Sharpees
  • poster board
  • construction paper (variety of colors and sizes)
  • old or new magazines to be cut apart for collages, such as National Geographic
  • old or new books for classroom library. We have set up an Amazon Wish List of books we would love to add to our growing collection!
  • educational/strategic board games such as:

Scrabble                                         Upwords                                              Dictionary Dabble

Boggle                                            Apples to Apples                                  Stratego

Derivation                                       WordXChange                                     Risk

WordThief                                       Blurt                                                     chess

Many of the larger items listed above can be found for great deals (and can even be obtained for free when people know it’s for a school) through garage sales, at Salvation Army, on craigslist.org, and through other used goods retailers.  If you have any other items that you think may be useful to us, please feel free to send them in at any time!  I greatly appreciate your support.  Your donations will be an asset to your children’s education.

Thank you!
